Daniel sees four great beasts coming out of the sea; a summary of the history of this world, which is never at peace. The first three most likely represent Babylon, the Medes and Persians, and then Greece. The fourth is altogether different, perhaps representing Rome, or all future kings. The little horn appears to be the last power, seemingly the same as the man of lawlessness in the New Testament. Great wickedness arises, but its time is limited. We must keep our eyes on the Ancient of Days.
