Philemon’s slave Onesimus had made a run for it. We were all once on the run from God, not wanting to submit to His laws. We see the gracious providence of God as Onesimus gets to Rome… and meets Paul! We see the gracious power of God to change people’s lives as Paul can now speak of Onesimus as his child, having led him to Christ. We finally see the gracious perspective of Christian forgiveness.
