This is a book about ordinary people. God works through ordinary people and events. These are real historic events that took place during the days of the judges. It was a dark era when God's people disobeyed. Moab was no place for an Israelite to be. They remained there, seemingly permanently settled. Sinful activities become sinful habits and become easier over time. The book ends with the birth of an heir. In Christ there is hope of redemption.
