Paul is not being arrogant but is telling the Philippians to follow him as one who is imperfect but pressing on, in contrast to the false teachers. Their end is destruction. If we think we don't need Christ to pay for our sin, we must pay for it. Their god is their belly. They obey every appetite they have. Not all desires we have are good desires to be acted upon. Our problem is we are only living for the here and now.
