James has told the rich to weep and howl. He does not anticipate their repentance; it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. We should not envy the rich. It is by God's grace that we go through poverty and difficulty. Weak people see their need of a saviour but riches cement pride. They have condemned innocent people, and the oppressed have no voice. If we are oppressed we can be encouraged. We are following in the footsteps of Christ . There is a God who judges justly and He has freed us from the judgement to come.
