Rejoice in the Lord
Important things get repeated. Paul has already told the Philippians to rejoice. Joy does not depend on circumstances but can be commanded. It can also be known always. If the Christian does not know joy we should ask why. There may be disobedience. A Christian will never have joy when harbouring a sin. We need a calm, gentle disposition that is kind to others. This is made possible by knowing that the Lord is at hand.
