Real faith will show itself. We will be doers, not just hearers. There must be a show of transformation. James gives us this picture of saving faith. He uses provocative language that will really get us thinking. He says faith can't save, referring to that kind of faith without works. We know we are saved by faith alone; this is the same James who proclaimed that point in Acts. The point he is making is that faith that is dead is not really faith at all.
