Jesus was fully conscious in the place where He died. He refused the drink that would have dulled His senses and accepted the one that would keep Him conscious for longer. He knows our pain and suffering. His sayings from the cross provide comfort. He bore the conscious judgement of God upon Himself so that His people can be saved from the eternal conscious judgement of hell.
