There are two kinds of wisdom: from above and demonic. The kind we want depends on the kind of results we want. James describes what each will produce. Wisdom from above produces good conduct, or a beautiful way of life. It is not just making the right decisions but there is a loveliness to this way of life. The opposite way is envy or jealousy. James describes this way as a kind of wisdom! There is a logic to it.
