Even in Naomi's bitterness about how God has dealt with her she has no other explanation than that God is in control. Orpah takes the seemingly most sensible option. The choice was God plus nothing in Bethlehem or everything minus God in Moab. Many people do not follow Christ because they are put off by the way of the cross. Ruth chooses God plus nothing. Whatever difficult things we have to do, God is always with us. There is a hint for a bright future. God's future is better than we can imagine.
