David speaks of ruling justly over men. He may be looking back over his life and considering his own reign which was like the dawning of the sun after the darkness that came before. He ruled justly and in the fear of God. We must also reign justly over all our spheres of responsibility. The good news is that a righteous ruler is coming; Jesus Christ will return and destroy all wickedness. We know that evil comes from our hearts, but Christ is gracious; whatever we have done, we can go to Him and know cleansing and forgiveness.
