This passage acknowledges the mighty men who served David. Can we be considered mighty servants of the Lord? Church history is full of those who stood their ground. When others lose heart and backslide we need to stand firm and keep going in the strength of the Lord, though we may feel like giving up. The Lord can work without us, and we must not think we are indispensable, but He does work by means of His people and their prayers. When we serve the Lord it can move others to worship, and delights the Lord.
