This epistle shows us how rich we are in Christ. It is a lifting up for the downcast. It is from Paul who claims to be an apostle – making these the very words of Christ – by the will of God. It was not by his own will, and he is incredulous, remembering what he used to be. Do we feel undeserving like Paul? God has a will and purpose for all of history and we can rest in the assurance that everything happening in the world today is according to His will.
