The Christian is restored from ruin but still a mess. Sampson’s life had been a mess and now He gives in to Delilah and loses his strength. The Spirit leaves him and he doesn’t even notice. Would we notice if God left us? Sampson, who had gone after things he saw, has his eyes plucked out. We were made for more than what we can see and touch. There is hope for Sampson as his hair begins to grow again. God gives him a second chance and uses him, as He wants to use us. In his death, Sampson is a picture of Christ.
