Paul is writing to the “saints”. All who trust in Christ are saints; not because of what we have done, but because of what Christ has done for us. We must live in the light of this, pointing others to Christ as they see the transformation in us. Paul writes to real believers at Ephesus who faced great opposition. They were faithful, and we must depend on the truths of the faith. They were “in Christ Jesus”, expressing a vital union.
